For the gospel to go forth unashamedly and with resounding courage in conversations, preaching, teaching, relationships, counsel, and education as well as increased opportunities to train people in truth and love.
For generations of pastors to be trained and supported to relationally and faithfully engage the world around them.
For people to respond to God and the gospel, and come together as local communities of churches to be encouraged and holding fast to God, his word, and how to live in his world.
For global funding and networking to increase, deepen, and widen with wisdom, patience, longevity, and healthy friendships.
For people to financially come together and understand God’s work in hearts to create a healthy generosity among his people to do his will and work.
About
We wanted to create a financial strategy among the Telos Network like a family that wisely, generously, and collectively prays, plans, and provides an inheritance for the long-term provision and use for Telos Church(es) and Telos Center in training people in truth and love. We are applying organizationally what we train people individually to do in real life. The main inheritance we want to leave is the inheritance of our faith in God, and if the Lord wills, be able to financially steward and provide a financial inheritance that becomes truthfully and lovingly used to engage the world with the gospel in real, transformed lives for God’s glory and purposes.
Purity
As Christians, we want to rightfully be content with Christ and Christ alone regardless of plans and outcomes as well as learning from God in how to wisely and generously train people in truth and love — now and into the next generations. Therefore, we are pursing this from God’s biblical perspective on finances, investment, and inheritance vs. greed or need of gain. Therefore, we pray for wisdom, research and engage wise counsel, endure difficult times, plan to steward faithfully, and ultimately live inspired by truth and love to make life, disciples, and churches all about Jesus!
Passion
We are unashamed of the gospel and what that means for real life, and God is the fuel for us to rightfully and wisely use personal and organizational resources for his purposes. How can you not get excited to know God or participate in his historical and global redemptive plan in revealing himself in truth and love to a condemned and separated world?
Purpose
Wisely planning and creating a sustainable inheritance for generations to use for training in truth and love for people to be inspired to make life, disciples, and churches all about Jesus.
Plans
Pray for wisdom and generous Christians to financially invest.
Be content in Christ regardless of outcomes.
Invite friends and churches to network and leverage financial resources for the gospel.
Create 3 funds for 1 purpose:
1) Checking & Savings (general use of finances - started 2013)
2) Investment (generous use of principal and interest - started 2019)
3) Endowment (generational use of interest - TBD)
Strategize the funds to integrate and support the overall mission of Telos Church(es) and Telos Center for training.
Match $250 already generously given monthly in the investment fund with participation of 50 $5 Telos Funders.
Multiply Christian pastors, people, and properties with telos centered hearts with God as their telos.
Financial Advisor
We are grateful for having connected with a specific financial advisor in the Sacramento region via the Dave Ramsey Financial Advisor ELP. Our advisor is trusted, capable, wise, and teacher-at-heart advisor. He is able to advise and process financial strategies that include mutual funds to life insurance. He has had consistent experience in helping clients setup overall financial strategy in the Financial Peace University classes for individuals, families, and organizations.
Financial Goals
These are obtainable and average amounts to strategically and generously use:
Checking and Savings: Receive ongoing financial giving from the collection and generosity of Telos Network of Supporting friends and churches and the community of Telos Church(es).
Investment: Receive a minimum of $100k within 10 years to grow 30 year-interest up to $2 million to be used from Telos Funders.
Endowment: Receive a minimum of $5 million in 50 years to grow interest up to $500 million to be used from Telos Funders.
Financial Strategy
These 3 primary categories for financial provision are set for local and global use:
Pastors: Financially supported as either part-time or full time to be missionaries among their area to train people in truth and love.
People: Financially resourced for needs that arise and available ways to train to live for God in real life.
Properties: Financially invest in organizational properties for Telos Church(es), Telos Center, and Telos Homes.
Financial Matching
Become a Telos Funder by giving as a group of 50 Christians at $5 monthly minimum. $5 x 50 funders is $250 monthly which will be matched by a generous family giving up to $250 monthly starting June 1, 2019.
