Lawson passionately, helpfully, and accurately preaches on a timely question, "Is the Bible Just Another Book?" during the 2010 Ligonier Conference. The sermon answers the question in width, depth, and clarity. Lawson does an excellent job in going to an easy to follow yet exhaustive list of why the Bible is not just another book.
Lawson begins from the self-claims of scripture from the Bible's New Testament passage of 2 Timothy 3:16 stating the scriptures are from and by God, where God breaths out or inspires scripture. The primary point being God as the source and secondarily using man to write the words over time. Lawson provides an incredible amount of facts and reason to establish and reveal God as the source as well as God's intent. Lawson broadens and extends beyond scripture to furthermore summarize clearly on the chronology, content, context, authors, locations, history, archaeology, science, philosophy, theology, doctrine, diversity, and ultimately unity to God's word, the Bible or scripture.
One important fact and highlight about the message is the focus and direction that the message of the Bible is unified to reveal Jesus Christ to entrust our life. Jesus' life, death, and resurrection was lived on behalf of mankind to be good news to trust in and follow. Without Christ, we are left to the human condition which is separation from God, the Creator of the world.
